SUPPLYING pots and crockery for the last 30 years, the owners will launch the exclusive spice shop, Spice Rack, on December 22 much to the pleasure of Pietermaritzburg chefs and cooks. The Spice Rack has set itself apart from other spice stores in that they will exclusively be stocking all kinds of Allifa spice products as well as Shan boxed spice products. “We ran as a coffee shop for about a year and then decided to go full time into a spice shop after we noticed there was a gap in the market in that many locals to the area had to go into Raisethorpe for their spice needs,” said Amod who’s shop is located at the Brookside Mall to cater for the people of Mountain Rise, Manor and the CBD but added that it is open for the rest of Pietermaritzburg as well. The Spice Rack’s grand launch will take place at the store in Brookside amid much entertainment in the form of various special guests such as Allifa’s representatives attending the launch where they will be creating and sampling to the audience various traditional savory snacks and milkshakes. The famous Instagram page Kitchen Queen’s who feature various cooking hotspots, foods and desserts on their page will be in attendance as well. Those who attend the launch stand a chance to win four Allifa’s hampers which include various Allifa goodies.
