THORNHILL Christian College is an Adventist-orientated independent, co-educational, non-denominational college offering a Caps curriculum with non-exam Bible studies and computer studies to all grades.

The medium of instruction is English. The pass mark begins from 50%. The school is zero tolerance to drugs, swearing, cheating, phonograph, firearms, carrying of sharp weapons and bullying.

To cater for population diversity, pupils choose two languages from English, Zulu, Afrikaans or Xhosa.

Thornhill Christian College was established in April 2015. It is owned by Lommmtec Consultancy & Enterprises (Registration Number 2015-1077197-07).

Professor Livingstone Makondo (DLitt et Phil (UNISA), MBA (NWU), MALSP, Grad. CE, BA Hons, BA Gen (UZ), PGDip HE (RU), a seasoned church elder, educationist, academic advisor and researcher with over 47 publications is the Chair of Thornhill Christian College Management Board.

Other Thornhill Christian College management Board members are O. Makondo (MBA (NWU), BSc. Hons (MSU), Dip. Ed (UZ)) (Deputy Chair), Engineer B. Saurombe (BSc. Mech Eng Hons, GCC Factories, MSAIMechE, MBA: Ops Mgmt), Mr P. Kucherera (BEd, BSc, Dip. Ed, IMPZ), B. Zulu (BSS), N. Ngobese, R. Chaibva, Prof & Advocate A. Saurombe, Dr Khoza, Z. Shongwe (BTech).

Thornhill Christian College curriculum­ is taught by 20 (16 degree holders and four diplomas and/or certificates­) properly qualified, experienced­ God-fearing team of teachers.

To enhance parents and/or guardians, staff and pupils’ (through prefects) involvement in the management, a college governing board is to be appointed.

As a college we partner with the Department of Education through offering the following:

•Grades RRR-12 (from three years) (day and boarding) (jungle gyms available)

•Matric upgrade (finishing school) (old and new syllabus) (day and evening classes)

•Extra lessons (Monday- Thursday)

•Holiday lessons

•After-care services with progressive classes

•Counselling services

It offers:

Foundation phase Grades R-3

Intermediate phase Grades 4-6

Senior Phase 7-9

Grades 10-12

Life skills (Afrikaans, optional) English, Zulu, (Xhosa), mathematics, natural sciences and technology, social sciences, arts and culture, life orientation, economic and management sciences, maths and maths literacy, accounting, business studies, economics, agricultural sciences, physical sciences­, geography, history and tourism.
