AFRO House artist Sihle Dladla is set to release his first solo album titled New Beginnings in September. Known as “Massai”, Dladla from Herwood area in Caluza, said this album has 12 tracks and it was produced by Dj Nkonka. He said the album features some Pietermaritzburg artists which include well-known jazz artist Zazi Mncube. Speaking to Echo, Dladla, who is signed under Mzansi Power House, said he is very excited and honoured that finally he has his own album. He said for him this is the start of bigger things in the music industry.“I started singing in 2005 but I was part of a group called Gidora with my brother, and we were doing kwaito. When we went our separate ways in 2015 I decided to stick with Afro house. Most people did not have faith in me, asking me how am I going to crack into the industry since we were well-known as a group and not as solo artists.“This album proves that anything is possible. You just need to work hard and give it your all. I am so excited and I cannot wait for people to hear the album,” he said. Dladla said he has always loved music and singing. He said he started singing in primary school and at church. “I never thought that today I will be singing Afro house because I love kwaito. Artists like the late gospel artist Sfiso Ncwane and Naima Kay inspired me. They told me that I have a beautiful voice and I must consider using it.“I worked with Naima Kay on her first album and we would all sing in the car when we were attending events. That is where she realised my talent of singing and told me to use my voice. He said after he has released his album he plans on travelling all over KwaZulu-Natal to promote his album. He said he also wants his music to be known on the whole continent.“Once I am done promoting the album I will start looking for artists outside the country that I can work with so that my music can grow.”The album will be available in all digital platforms for download.
