Afterlife gamble

2019-03-13 06:02

THESE are the latest religious demographics of the world:

Christianity (31,5%);

Islam (23,2%);

Hinduism (15%);

Buddhism (7,1%); and

folk religions (5,9%).

Now let’s analyse these statistics. Assuming that only one religion is correct (exclusivity is common in religion), then only a maximum potential 31,5% of humanity is going to have a pleasant afterlife.

As religion mainly deals in extremes, over 68,5% are going somewhere much worse.

However, with no independent evidence of any afterlife, around 16% of humanity are not affiliated with any faith or are atheists.

Is believing in any invisible god really worth it if you at best have a 31,5% chance of making a hypothetical afterlife enjoyable?
