WITH more than R20 000 in prize money up for grabs at this weekend’s Greater Edendale Race, entries are coming in thick and fast.

The 11th edition of the community running event will be hosted on Sunday, November 12 at the FNB Wadley Stadium in Georgetown, Edendale.

The event remains one of the Comrades Marathon Association’s (CMA) most powerful CSI initiatives, hosted in conjunction with the Msunduzi Municipality and the Msunduzi Pietermaritzburg Tourism Association (MPTA).

Entries are being taken at Comrades Marathon House, 18 Connaught Road, Scottsville between 9am and 4pm until today, Thursday, November 9.

Entries will also be taken on race day at the FNB Wadley Stadium from 5am to 7am.

Runners will be required to supply the following details when making their entry - first name, surname, gender, cell number, identity number, date of birth, running club and licence number.

Athletes who have already entered the race manually, are asked to present themselves at the information tent on race day to collect their number and get their personal details captured on the database.

The event starts at 7.30am. Entry is R40 for licensed runners and R55 for unlicensed runners, which includes a temporary licence.

The cut-off time is 2:30 minutes. Entrants must be 14 years or older.
