THE teenager suspected to have “borrowed” and then crashed his father’s Range Rover into a row of parked cars at an alleged illegal drag racing event appeared in court last Thursday.

An attorney, acting on behalf of the teenager’s father, confirmed that the teenager was arrested last week Tuesday. The teenager has reportedly been charged with reckless and negligent driving and malicious damage to property.

The teenager spent last Tuesday night behind bars before he was released on Wednesday with orders to appear in court the following day.

On Thursday the prosecution said that they would need more time to investigate the matter in order to come to a final decision as to whether they were going to proceed with prosecuting the teenager or not.

It was confirmed by the attorney that the owner of vehicle in question was out of the country at the time of the incident and that the car was left in the care of his wife.

The couple’s son is alleged to have taken the car, without permission, in order to compete in a drag racing event which lead him to smashing into a number of other cars at the scene of the crime.
