MARITZBURG United recorded their fourth draw of the season on Friday after being held out for a goalless draw against Cape Town City at the Harry Gwala Stadium. Having won just one game since the beginning of the Absa Premiership, United were looking for their first win at home but will look back on the game as a missed opportunity before the Fifa break. One of the only positives from the game had to be the Team of Choice’s fifth clean sheet in succession, highlighting the strength of their defence. United did well to keep Ayanda Patosi and company from penetrating their defence with Richard Ofori doing well to parry out Patosi’s early strike. Yannick Zakri was the closest to scoring for United, and opening his account for the side, but he was denied by City’s keeper Peter Leeuwenburgh, who produced a fine save to keep the side at bay. United did well to record another clean sheet but remain goalless after four games at home, a worrying statistic.
