PIETERMARITZBURG Dusi Table Tennis players excelled at the Arnold Classic tournament held recently in Sandton, with many members of the club bringing home medals.

Seven players from Dusi participated in the tournament and came back with a few medals.

Of the seven players, Shavishka Ramlingam reached the quarter-finals of the under-13 girls and the semi-finals of the under-15, winning a bronze medal for her feats.

Suvaria Moodley reached the finals of the under-13 girls where she lost, finishing as runner-up.

One of the superstars of the tournament, Keshmika Sivnarain, who has represented South Africa on several occasions, did exceptionally well by reaching the women’s open division singles final where she lost to the South African champion.

“The tournament was a great one and the younger players gained a lot of experience,” said club coach Morgan Govindasamy. Dusi Table Tennis Club offers free coaching to anyone interested in playing the sport.
