THE entire Maritzburg United team is expected to perform on a high note when they take on their neighbours Lamontville Golden Arrows tomorrow (Friday) at Harry Gwala Stadium at 8pm.

Last Wednesday at home, the local PSL outfit was on fire, proving that they are still capable of winning games when they beat Black Leopards 3-1 during the Nedbank Cup last 32 fixture.

Although the visitors from the Limpopo Province are a National First Division (NFD) side, they are no pushovers and really gave the Team of Choice a lot of head-aches. A lot of soccer followers thought the visiting side were simply unlucky not to win the game and also had a soft penalty going against them.

The home side displayed bravery and their team effort earned them the 3-1 victory.

The home side’s captain, Kurt Lentjies, struck twice as they beat Black Leopards 3-1 in a Nedbank Cup last-32 tie on Wednesday night.

Lentjies opened the scoring 17 minutes into the game with a fine finish from the edge of the box, but Roggert Nyundu hit back soon after to make it 1-1 at the break.

Bandile Shandu then nudged the Team of Choice ahead in the 70th minute before Man of the Match Lentjies sealed the result from the spot with seven minutes to go.

Team of Choice PRO Brian Zuma says that currently, the spirit in the camp is very high and Arrows will find them to be difficult customers.

“Our Nedbank win against Leopards last Wednesday somehow lifted the whole team.

“We are currently oozing with confidence and look set to carry on winning.

“Arrows will be meet a different Maritzburg United team,” said Zuma.
