ZAZI Media, together with House Of Christ, (HOC) will host an artists workshop on June 15 at House of Christ at Imbali Unit 3 from 7.30 pm.

This workshop is aimed at teaching local artists about the entertainment industry and their rights.

Zazi Nxele, founder for Zazi Media, told Echo that they believe that there are a lot that local artists need to learn about the industry.

“This workshop will be very helpful to our local artists because we all know that entertainment industry is very tough. As an artist you need to be informed about the industry and also know your rights. We work very closely with local artists and it breaks our hearts to see them being exploited. They get invited to events and they do not get paid because they are told by the event organisers that they are given a platform to market themselves.

“Artists need to know that they must be paid when they perform. We can’t sit and do nothing any longer and watch other people play with the talent of our young men and women,” he said.

Nxele said this is the first time they are doing this workshop but it is something that they would like to continue doing for the other upcoming artists as well.

He also advised local artists to stand together in fighting exploitation from event organisers who do not want to pay them.

If you would like to attend this workshop, please RSVP on 072 150 0858 via WhatsApp.
