MOUNTAIN Rise Astro Junior League Football executive board invites all to come experience the 2018 season.

The season will commence in March, but teams are urged to register before February 17.

This year’s league will include under 7, 9, 11, 13,15 and 17. This will be a two-round league as there will be a break from May 19 to July 14 to accommodate the fasting period, school exams and holidays.

The second round will commence on July 21.

Mohammed Patel said this year they are hoping to have more teams.

“Last year we had 38 teams and this year we are hoping to have at least more than 50 teams. We want to expose our community to this sport. We’re inviting people who do not have teams to come and watch, just to see what happens. Maybe they will love it.

“We are also encouraging schools to participate as school teams. This will help in exposing children in schools into this new sport,” he said.

Last year it was the first time Pietermaritzburg had a junior’s league in this sport.
