Award-winning man releases poetry e-book

2016-05-25 06:00

SOUTH African hip-hop award-winning rapper, author and former columnist Brian Khoza is using his passion for writing to fight against gender violence.

  • The collection of love poems he wrote to love interests over a decade ago will only be available on the internet and is called Smiling After Lost Love

The book, due out on Khoza’s birthday, 19 May comes with a special request - a #SmilingAfter campaign. People can post on social networks about ways to heal after disappointment, heartbreak and other relationship-related issues, but leave room for #SmilingAfter.

Seeing the destruction and violence that happens when couples break up or relationships that go wrong Khoza decided to dedicate much of his work to changing mind-sets using rap, writing, Tweeting and public speaking.

He said he feels that knowing somebody was heartbroken and disrespected in a relationship and then finds love later can help.

The foreword was written by Julie Smith from Pietermaritzburg Agency for Community Social Action.

The book can now be downloaded from https://gumroad.com/
