CRICKET has been described as “the gentleman’s game” for many years, but for a game described so casually, one underestimates the skill required in playing it.

Matthew Luksich was recently named Player of the Year as well as the Bowler of the Year for the KwaZulu-Natal Inland Cricket Academy.

Luksich who graduated with an IIE’s BCom Finance Degree on April 12, has already begun his journey towards Honours in Strategic Management, balancing this responsibility with his passion for Cricket.

Luksich said: “Choosing to study at the IIE’s Varsity College has proven to be the best decision I could have made.

“I have been able to enjoy the last three years of uninterrupted study and all the staff have always been a great help in accommodating me and supporting me in my dream of playing representative cricket.

“This has helped me to balance my studies with my cricket career.”

In an industry where sport stars rarely has something to fall back onto in the case of injury, Luksich has taken it upon himself to pursue both a sports career as well as completing his Honours.
