Ban loud bangs, light colourful fountains

2016-01-13 06:00

I AM a Hindu and I think fireworks should be banned. I don’t see the point of lighting fireworks from 8am to midnight. People who request this should think before they go forward. I don’t think they know what Diwali is all about.

It is absurd to set off fireworks in the morning and then light the lamps at night. We should also light the lamps in the morning. I strongly suggest that the people concerned should rethink what they are requesting.

Diwali is a day of happiness and prayer. Lighting the lamps means showing the gods the way home - it is not about lighting fireworks and chasing them away. Come on people, we live in a new world, forget the past. The lighting of colourful fountains at night should not be a problem, but the loud bangs should be banned.
