NEDBANK Pietermaritzburg Branch hosted a soccer tournament for non-profit organisations that they sponsored in 2018. The tournament was held at the AB Jackson Hockey Stadium in Pelham last Wednesday.

Abasha FC won the event, and they walked away with a cheque for R5 000 in prize money.

All the teams that participated were awarded with medals and the winning team also received a trophy.

Dithuso Mongoato, from Nedbank, said this tournament was their way of giving back to the community.

“There are lot of programmes that we do, which is our way of giving back, but this year we decided to do this tournament with the four zero-profit organisations that we sponsored.

“They all participated in the tournament and Nedbank staff took part as well,” she said.

Mongoato said they will continue to have other programmes focusing on giving back to the community that they serve.
