THE Alexandra Park Bowling Club was abuzz with excitement as the monthly night bowls tournament took place on Friday, June 29.

With 10 teams entered, competition was stiff for the coveted first place position.

Support from neighbouring bowling clubs, namely West, Maritzburg and Lynwood Bowling Club as well as the Carbineers Running Club, was appreciated and the spirit of healthy competition was evident.

The pressure was on Alexandra Bowling Club to play consistently well in the hope of impressing sponsors Vertish Vather, managing director of SV Company Registrations, and Adil Latiff, Managing director of Latiff Incorporated.

Alexandra Bowling Club impressed by securing first and second prize with Rodney Hoskins and team in first, Dennis Khanyile and team in second and Gary Voller and team in third.
