THERE were 30 finalists, but only three who became owners of new VW Cities at SuperSave’s 3 Cars 3 Winners competition.

The event was held last weekend at the Royal Showgrounds.

SuperSave Director, Suhail Bayat said the store initiated the competition 10 years ago as a way of reciprocating thanks to customers for their continued and loyal support.

“We want our customers to know they are appreciated for choosing to shop with us, and we would like to thank them for their support over the years.”

He said initially only two cars were given away and somewhere during those 10 years expensive cars were given away, resulting in the quantity having to be reduced to one.

“We then asked customers to tell us what they preferred – one expensive car or cheaper cars, so we can increase the volume. They chose the latter, which is how we arrived at giving away three cars.”

Customers entered via a till slip competition. All they had to do was spend a minimum of R350 and jot down their details on the back of the slip.

At the event last week, there were three bowls, each containing 10 keys, but only one key in each bowl opened the car door.

“The draw last week was nerve-wracking. People were shaking as they chose a key from the bowl. It was amazing to make three customers’ dreams comes true. The expression on their faces was priceless,” said Bayat.

SuperSave will go even bigger next year when shoppers can look forward to standing a chance of winning one of five cars.
