“NEVER die alive” was the theme at the career expo held at Imbali Unit 1 last Thursday.

The expo was organised by non-profit organisation Great Impact Lifestyle and the aim was to inform Grade 12 pupils about the careers available for them to study towards after they complete matric.

Sukuma Comprehensive, Zibukezulu High and Fundokuhle High schools attended the expo.

Nqobile Kwitshana from Great Impact Lifestyle said that this is the second time such an event was held for Imbali schools.

“We want to give pupils an opportunity to learn about different careers before they choose what they want to study.

“Most pupils end up choosing wrong careers because they did not get the information they needed in time.

“We also invited the funding companies because we want to make them aware of the options they have if they want to study but don’t have finance.

“We want them to fight for their future.

“Youngsters have a bright future ahead of them, they just need people with an experience to show them the way,” Kwitshana said.

Kwitshana said that there are a lot of university students who have dropped out or who have failed their modules because they chose wrong careers.

“We don’t want to see many other students drop out or fail because they lack information about a specific career.

“We will continue to work hard in making sure of this.”

Kwitshana said that they are hoping to have more schools attend next year and to also be able to go out to other organisations to assist.
