#CARTERHIGHSCHOOLTURNS 40 has been a popular hashtag used throughout the year, and was created by Darren Maule from East Coast Radio on his visit to Carter High in January. This year has been remarkable, filled with happenings that gave us the opportunity to celebrate 40 years of educational excellence.

The much heralded 40th anniversary celebration owes its success due to the in-

volvement of our business partners, longstanding friends, sister schools, past and present staff, governing bodies, past and present pupils.

Thank you to our business partners, sister schools for your congratulatory messages and advertisements placed in our birthday supplement in March.

Thank you to the governing body for your strategic management and support ensuring Carter High remains a school of excellence.

To all our sponsors, both longstanding and new, we could not have successfully carried out our mandate without your generous support. Thank you for believing in the vision of Carter High. Every event needs supporters, thank you to the Carter High community for investing time in attending events this year.

To all Carterians both past and present, you have made this year worth celebrating. Your journey in striving for perfection is a continuous link to the ethos of our school, and we are proud of you.

To the principals and retired staff of Carter High, we are sincerely honoured that you celebrated this momentous year with us.

We salute you for the time you invested in Carter High School. Your passionate service is embedded in the school. To the current staff complement at Carter High, your tireless pursuit in going beyond the call of duty to give the best service to our pupils, parents, partners and the public is highly appreciated.

The strength of Carter High School’s work culture can best be related to that of a family structure.

Celebrating 40 years by seizing unique opportunities and inspiring young minds” has been Carter High School’s slogan this year.

As the year draws to a close we take this time to also wish you well.

Together we look forward to our prospects for 2018, and the countless opportunities waiting to be seized.

2017 Prefects and Mrs Van Der Vegte.
