CALLED into ministry in 1982, and ordained as an apostle by Apostle Cyril Wilson in 1994, Apostle Tony Francis, who established the True Vine Community Church with his wife Rose and their colleagues Praveen and his Romona Rathnam in 2009, celebrated the church’s 10 year anniversary two weeks ago.

“Our first worship and communion service was held in a garage and then later we moved into a classroom at W A Lewitt School, where we held regular services for about four years until our numbers began to increase and we then had to move to the Highgate Shopping Centre on Bombay Road, where we currently still reside,” said Francis.

The church continues to follow in the apostle’s doctrine in fellowship and breaking of bread and in prayers.

Consisting of 70 members altogether, the church celebrated their decade in service by hosting a series of Evangelical Campaigns on their church premises over the course of three days.

Two charismatic preachers were the guest speakers during the campaign, which ran from Friday until Sunday.

On Friday, the legendary Apostle Kelson Lochrenberg, from Umkomaas, formerly of Pietermaritzburg, was the speaker.

With hundreds of guests in attendance over the three days, apostle Francis said that it was the church’s mission to reach the unchurched and spread the good news to all men and women.
