ORGANISER and founder of the Panorama annual “Lunch for the disadvantaged children”, Jerry Barnes, is beaming with praise for all those who made the event a success. On Saturday, Barnes hosted close to 200 children and some parents at his home in Panorama Gardens. “The support I received this year was just amazing and came from all angles,” he said.“At first, I received calls from churches, friends, neighbours and even colleagues indicating that they wanted to help, it was very emotional. When the story appeared in the newspapers it really helped us and brought in a lot of sponsors and partners,” said a grateful Barnes. Barnes said that this year the children and their parents were not only offered lunch but were also given toys, personal packs and clothes. “I would like to thank everyone who made this possible. This year was an incredible tally of 200 children and we were able to give these children and their parents quality time and blessings and I pray that God blesses them, their family and their careers going forward,” said Barnes.
