THE annual Christmas party, hosted by the Community Chest at the Golden Horse Casino in-fields on Friday, was a blast, with 500 children from 11 crèches and feeding schemes in Edendale, Eastwood, Tufleni, Vulisaka, France, Oribi, Azalea and Copesville invited.

The children enjoyed hot dogs, juice, milkshakes, cupcakes, pizza, ice cream, sweets and other treats throughout day.

The highlight was the arrival of Santa Claus on a fire engine and receiving their Christmas presents and party packs.

The Pietermaritzburg SPCA also had a Christmas market at the weekend, with hundreds coming together in a bid to raise funds for the organisation.
