SIX people, five of them children, sustained injuries after two bakkies collided in Mpolweni Mission just outside Pietermaritzburg on Tuesday.

When ER24 arrived on the scene at 2.30pm, another medical service was already in attendance.

Five children sustained minor injuries and woman sustained moderate injuries. It is believed that the children are aged between seven and 12.

ER24, as well as Midlands EMS, transported the patients to Northdale hospital for further medical care.

Police are investigating.
