AS Christmas draws closer traditional Christmas gathering with carols will be hosted at Amber Valley in Howick on 9 December.

Richard Cock will be part of a celebration on 11 December at the Church of the Ascension in Hilton.

The event will start at 7.30pm in Howick and it is strictly for Amber Valley residents and their guests only.

Cock is a South African music maestro who has become known as “Mr Music” through his generous and friendly manner of bringing people together and uplifting spirits through the joy of music.

Cock will host the event and will lead the audience in singing favourite Christmas carols, present readings, both sacred and secular. He will also sing his favourite popular Christmas songs and to raise the roof in the singing of carols.

Additional musical delights will be provided by Maritzburg pianist, Christopher Duigan, and one of South Africa’s taste rising stars, Cape Town tenor, Lukhanyo Moyake who will sing O Holy Night and other religious­ songs.

Tickets for Carols for Christmas with Cock are R120, and includes refreshments at interval.
