HOSANNA Church in Scottsville celebrated its 18th anniversary on July 28. Various senior pastors in the city were honoured for their faithful service to the local church and community during the anniversary event, with most pastors having over 50 years of service to their names dedicated to their local church and communities. Bishop Alvin Anthony ministered the word to a packed congregation on the importance of evolving from the culture and character of ministry.“Those that have preceded us from the scripture Proverbs 22 verse 28, ‘remove not the old landmark do not enter into the fields of the fatherless’,” said Anthony, quoting the scripture.Hosanna Ladysmith and Verulam branches of the church were also supportive at the event and a congratulatory message from Apostle King, the church’s international affiliation, was also part of the programme. The highlight of the worship service was the hymn Great is thy Faithfulness, which was sung by pastors Alan Bruce and Jewel Naidoo, with the music by pastors Bev Hoffman, Anthony, Kenny Kisten and part of the Hosanna praise team. Hosanna Church is a Church of the Nations for the Nations, with ministries and orphanages in Liberia and involvement in churches in the U.S. and India.
