DUSI Table Tennis Club had recently commemorated seven of their players who represented Umgungundlovu at the South African National Junior and Senior Championships in Oudtshoorn recently.

The club proudly boasts that every year new members are able to make the team that represents Umgungundlovu.

This year is no exception with Aryan Kailas and Himesh Pillay making their debut playing in the under 13 age division and Ezra Naidoo for the under 15 division. Shavishka, Kimeshnee and Kaston have made Dusi Table Tennis Club proud for a second consecutive year when they were again selected at the Umgungundlovu trials to make the team to Oudtshoorn.

Kivesh and Keshmika Sivnarain are no strangers to the game and have brought honour to the club by not only being ranked No.2 and No. 3 in SA, but have also represented the country several times at international tournaments.

All players are extremely grateful for the training, hard work, support and effort of their coach Morgan Govindasamy who certainly leads by example.

Govindasamy is currently ranked as the number one player in the country in the veterans over 60 division.

The parents and committee would like to thank Govindasamy for his continuous and outstanding dedication towards the players whilst juggling time between work and training the kids.

All players are coached at no charge. The club is situated at 5 Chetty Road and have a number of players who are from the surrounding disadvantaged communities.

We are extremely grateful to our sponsors for making this experience possible for some of our players. The Dusi Table Tennis family wishes all its players well and we are confident that they will do us proud and keep flying the Dusi flag high. — Supplied
