WHILE many of Pietermaritzburg’s residents will be flocking to grocery and appliance stores this Friday, Nityananda Pran Das has urged all devotees and non-devotees to make their way to their local temples to mark the last five days of Kartik, the month of Lord Damodar which began on Monday. “As we enter the last week of Kartik, let us meditate on the words of grandfather Bhisma who said that we must invest our thinking, feeling, and willing, which were so long engaged in different subjects and occupational duties, in the all-powerful Lord Sri Krsna,” said Das.Das encouraged all to visit the temple, not because they are expected to or even due to promises, but as an answer to the soul’s yearning. “Take this opportunity to fill your heart with Srimati Radharani’s mercy and dive deep into the ocean of bhakti. There are only a few days left to offer a lamp to Lord Damodara, so bring someone new to the temple with you. “In the mood of Sri Krishna’s topmost devotee, Srimati Radharani, bring as many people as you can to Lord Damodara,” “Let us illuminate this Black Friday by getting together to celebrate the last day of Kartik by offering our lamps to Lord Damodar, all the while petitioning the Lord to keep our hearts burning with the desire to please Him,” appealed Das.For more information contact Nityananda Pran Das at 084 524 6754.
