A FOUNDING member of the Christian Fellowship Church, Debi Naidoo, has passed on following a short illness.

During her life, Naidoo committed herself to volunteering her time to non-profit organisation Mama Ntombi Community Project (MNCP).

MNCP is an organisation of the Christian Fellowship Church.

The project assists underprivileged communities by providing them with support and meals.

It operates in informal settlements such as Jika Joe.

Speaking on the passing of Naidoo, retired SAPS member Logan Govender said: “It was with much sadness that I learnt of the passing of a dear sister in Christ after a short illness.

“Before falling ill, she was an active and regular volunteer, preparing and providing anything and everything for the underprivileged,” said Govender, who added that Naidoo was a hands-on person and was present on site on every occasion.

“Thank you for being steadfast, immovable and always abounding in the work of the Lord. Your labours were not in vain.

“Rest in peace, good and faithful servant,” said Govender.

Sandra Pillay, one of the founding members of MNCP, said the organisation has lost one of its volunteers who played an instrumental role not only in the organisation but also in the communities the organisation served.

“I would say, she is one person who is very difficult to replace.

She displayed genuine love and care for others. I really miss her. said Pillay.
