Connor Road resurfacing has been put on the back burner

2016-10-12 06:00

THE resurfacing of approximately only 45 metres of Connor Road, servicing a number of residents, has once again been placed on the back burner. The reason given was that a new system is being put in place before new orders can be placed.

Residents are compelled to put up with dust raised by passing motor vehicles speeding up and down past the complex from and to Woodlands and Claridge.

The elderly, infirm and the minor are frequently affected by the dust and have to make numerous visits to their family practitioners to be treated for upper respiratory infections.

The dust raised by vehicles permeates the atmosphere and enters our homes and contaminates our supplies, clothing and furniture. During the rainy season this part of the road becomes impassable.

It is requested that a number of traffic-calming devices be erected to prevent speeding at the following positions, where the tar ends, after the complex entrance gate, just past where the property front boundary ends and a number thereafter from that point onto where the huge tree is at the top end.

We urge authorities to hasten the completion of the road to prevent the numerous inconveniences experienced by us, the residents.
