YOUNG model Zanele Zuma, from Lay Centre in Edendale, is ready to represent her city after being selected as a finalist for Miss KwaZulu-Natal Queen 2018.

Zanele, who is in Grade 11 at Haythorne Secondary School, is among 20 finalists who will compete for the crown on October 26 at Blue Lagoon Conference Centre in Durban.

Speaking to the Echo, Zanele said she is nervous but she has faith that she will do well.

“I am so overwhelmed but I believe that, with everyone showing me support, I will bring this crown home where it belongs.

“I am not doing this only for me but for my city as well and I want to make everyone proud,” she said.

Not only is Zanele a finalist in this pageant, but she is also a finalist for a national pageant, called Miss High Schools SA 2018, that will be held in Johannesburg on December 1.

Zanele asks the community to keep on voting for her on Miss High Schools SA as it will help her in walking away with the crown.

To vote for Zanele SMS “MHSSA Zanele” to 37587.

SMSes costs R5.

Support Zanele at the Miss KwaZulu-Natal Queen pageant on October 26 at 7 pm.

Tickets cost R100 at the door.
