REAL Anglers Angling Club will be hosting its annual fishing competition at Kaylami Bay, Albert Falls Dam.

The event will be an overnight competition on 12 and 13 December from 3pm to 9am.

Target species are carp, bass and barbel from shore only. Experience the adrenaline of catching monster carp and the explosion of bass as they surface out of the water when you strike your rod. The action will take place in areas of the dam that have not been fished before such as the islands, the ridge and the foundations, taking you back more than 20 years.

There are different prize categories to ensure that competitive angling is rewarded with a medley of R10 000 cash.

Prizes include R5 000 for first place carp, R2 000 for second place carp, R1 000 for third place, R1 000 for first place bass and R1 000 for first place barbel.

Tickets are R100, available at most PMB tackle shops. Tickets are limited. Toilets will be provided.

The fund-raising competition will assist the club in developing members to fish at provincial and national level as well as in the development of a coaching programme for junior anglers. Conserve, protect and educate.
