COMMUNITY Chest is pleading with members of the public to get into the spirit of giving this festive season by donating towards the Community Chest Kidz Christmas Party.

The final countdown to the Christmas party for 500 deserving children has begun.

Community Chest staff and volunteers are busy ensuring that every item on the party wishlist is ticked off and every child has their Santa Box filled with toiletries, snack packs and a set of clothes for Christmas.

Angie Narayanan, the Community Chest public relations and marketing manager, said that without the spirit of giving, this event would remain nothing more than a dream to the children.

“If you are still wanting to share in the spirit of giving this Christmas Season, you are welcome to pledge your support,” said Narayanan, adding that all of the party provisions and Santa Boxes are generously sponsored by caring members from our community.

“The Community Chest appreciates the generosity of all the corporates and private individuals who ‘adopted’ an entire Early Childhood Development (ECD) Centre, or one or more of the 500 attending children, through donations in cash or in kindness.

“After all, we celebrate Christmas by giving, because we remembe r how God first gives to us, all of our blessings,” said Narayanan.

Those who want to donate can contact Sma or Mala at 033 394 1031. Alternatively, send an e-mail to either sma@communitychest.org.za ormala@communitychest.org.za
