ANGIE Freddy from Northdale is encouraging people to donate their long hair to CANSA.

Freddy cut her 27cm hair last Friday and donated it to Blue Gel Hair Studio, which works with CANSA. Freddy donated her hair during the month of October, which was breast cancer awareness month, but encourages all to donate their ponytails whenever they can.

The hair is used to make wigs for cancer patients experiencing hair-loss.

“By donating you are putting a smile on someone’s face and making them feel good again. I want to inspire and motivate others to do the same all year round.

“If your hair grows long and you want to cut it, be a good citizen and donate it to CANSA.

“I am glad I am making a difference in someone’s life. I don’t have a problem growing my hair and donating it over and over again.

People need to be inspired by this and take part.”
