Double standards

2019-01-16 06:02

SO let’s understand a few things. A white woman is doing “time“for using the “K” word. Perhaps what was most disturbing about that incident was that it was used against a black traffic officer trying to assist her. Fact is, she faces incarceration for two years for that offence.

Then we have a sheep ritually slaughtered brutally and inhumanely on Clifton Beach to rid our land of racism, in the midst of chanting and ululating people, some of whom sported T-shirts proclaiming the slogan, “Kill all white people”, or derivatives thereof.

Then we have the leader of a populist movement sprouting exactly the same rhetoric, only this time he includes the pets of the white people.

I don’t see action being taken against anyone. Is it just me or is this double standards in its purest form?

I can’t help but wonder at what the reaction might be if that kind of murderous and barbaric rhetoric should emanate from the mouths of white folk.

Racism, despite popular belief, is not the copyright of white people, and has never been as rife as it is today. Go figure! I am reminded of the words of Emperor Hirohito of Japan just before the attack on Pearl Harbour: “If all men are brothers, why are the winds and the seas so restless?”
