ON Thursday, July 18 the South African National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence (Sanca) Pietermaritzburg embarked on a public awareness campaign to highlight the devastating effects that substance abuse has on families, communities and our city.

Sanca is a registered non-profit organisation that strives to address alcohol and other drug problems by offering specialised prevention, treatment and community development services to all the people of PMB, thereby enhancing their quality of life and restoring the self-respect and dignity of persons affected by alcoholism and drug dependency.

Sanca appeals to the public and business sector to assist in whatever way possible to help achieve their goals and deal with the scourge of drugs in our city and communities. Donations can be made to: Sanca Pietermaritzburg, FNB Boom Street, Account No: 50933680099, branch code 221325 with “Donation” as the payment reference.

Contact Sanca at: 136 Hoosen Haffejee Street, or call 033 345 4173.
