PIETERMARITZBURG musicians Andile Magwaza and Sizwe Mbelu are encouraging the city’s “creatives” such as upcoming artists, DJs, YouTubers, bloggers, filmmakers and so forth to get in touch with them with the aim of collaborating so that they can all help grow each other’s brands.Magwaza and Mbelu as a duo call themselves Freeza Beats and are the founders of Thawini Creatives.According to the duo, Thawini Creatives mainly produces music and multimedia services such as photography and graphic design.“Our operations are focused in local music through beatmaking and producing music for upcoming artists and brands,” said Magwaza.Now with over 10 years experience in what they do, they have decided to turn things around in 2020 and start releasing music under their company.“We produce, distribute and market our projects and brands.“Our first release is a song titled Dream Life, a greatly produced house track which features a fellow upcoming artist on the vocals, Biingo J,” said Magwaza. He emphasised that the single release was just a way for them to showcase their production skills and also shine the spotlight on another young local and talented artist.He explained that the song was written to express the fears and uncertainty faced by young creatives when trying to pursue their dreams and live a meaningful life. “It seeks to bring hope to all listening listeners and assures them that dreams do come true.
