AS part of the temple’s social responsibility endeavour, the Shri Vishnu Temple on Langalibalele Street embarked on a school pack drive this past weekend in order to empower pupils who, for one reason or the other, cannot afford basic items such as school uniforms and stationery.

Chairperson for the temple Henry Budram said that the temple members were extremely grateful for the overwhelming co-operation and support they received.

“We are so thankful to all those who helped us in this initiative and want to urge all those that are involved with this school pack project to continue with their loyal support as the temple envisages to bulk the pack to include more uniform items the next time we host a drive,” said Budram.

In addition to the school pack project, the temple also provides meals to organisations and indigent people during the week.

“Again, we want to thank the temple devotees and the public who graciously offer funding either in cash or in kind,” said Budram to all those who support the temple’s various social initiatives.

Budram said that the temple believed very strongly in service to mankind, stating that service to mankind is ultimately a service to God.
