EPWORTH School is extremely proud of the Class of 2017’s academic achievements in the IEB National Senior Certificate examinations.

All 70 pupils were successful, resulting in a 100% pass rate. Sixty nine (98.6%) pupils attained university entrance, which is above the national IEB percentage of 88.5%.

Overall, the class of 2017 achieved 121 subject A aggregates, 142 subject B aggregates and 151 subject C aggregates.

Epworth Dux for 2017, Faye Smith, extended her excellent academic record with six distinctions and an overall aggregate of 88%.

Fellow pupils Melissa Oellermann (87%), Nienke du Preez (83%) and Cassia Forsyth (81%) also attained six distinctions each.

Shaniaé Maharaj achieved seven distinctions with an overall aggregate of 84%.

This high standard of results reflect the girls’ commitment to excellence and hard work and indicate that in addition to developing their talents and potential in all areas of the school, they did not neglect their academic responsibilities. “Their varied skills and competencies have afforded them the balance between academic, cultural, sporting and spiritual pursuits,” said Head of School, Ms Laura Bekker. - Supplied.
