2018-11-28 06:00

A MAN appeared briefly in the Pietermaritzburg Magistrate’s Court on Monday for being in possession of R800 000 in counterfeit money.

Ernest Mampendo (34) was arrested on Saturday in the Thembelihle area, Eastwood. The counterfeit money was in R100 notes.

He has also been charged with being in possession of stolen property — three flat-screen television sets, two DVD players and two amplifiers.

Mampendo has been remanded in custody and will appear again in court on November 27.
