THE Ward 25 Women’s Desk will host an outreach initiative called ‘Family Funday’ on Saturday, February 29, at the rugby field opposite Grey’s Hospital, Town Bush Road from 9am to 4pm.The aim for this initiative is to create awareness and reach out to vulnerable and abused women and children.It is also about bringing together the community to stand together united in peace and love to fight against the injustices against the most vulnerable in our society, our women and children. The event also seeks to empower women by providing a platform to showcase their talents, goods and services, thus allowing for some financial independence and opportunities to grow themselves. It is an environment of family fun and empowerment.Everyone is welcome join in and support the initiative. Entry is free.There will be a wide variety of food stalls, fancy dress parades, pony rides, games, and prizes.There will be free HIV and Aids counselling as well as glucose and blood pressure testing.There will be a legal advice desk offering free legal advice on all family law and domestic violence matters.
