Family fun for all at festive fair

MSUNDUZI Hospice will host a Night Market and Festive Fair on November 22 from 6 pm and on November 23 from 8 am.

Hospice fundraiser Tanya Roux said they are always seeking creative ways to raise funds to sustain the care that the hospice provides.

Roux explained that the night market is an opportunity for the public to relax and unwind with good food and live music all while supporting the worthy cause.

“Visitors who will attend this market can browse the hospice shops, view and buy stunning crafts from our vendors and just relax with friends and family,” said Roux, who added that the Saturday morning fair promises fun and entertainment for the whole family.

The fair will feature a scrumptious tea garden; a variety of stallholders with spectacular arts, crafts and gift ideas just in time for Christmas; delicious cakes and savouries; jams and marmalades; a variety of plants and seedlings; an exciting kids corner; a jumping castle; and tons of bargains at the popular white elephant tent.

“The hospice charity shops and book shop will also be open,” said Roux.

The event will feature live music from the Hairy Legged Lentil Eaters on Friday and the very talented Jan Swart on Saturday.

Roux emphasised that supporting the hospice’s fundraising initiatives helps with mobilising qualified nurses who provide free, home-based, clinical care and support.

“Your precious support will be used to assist people who have been diagnosed with life limiting illnesses such as cancer, HIV/AIDS, TB, motor neuron disease and more,” she said.

The event is open to the whole family. There is an entry fee of R10 per person on Friday evening and R5 per person on Saturday morning.
