THE KZN Inland women’s cricket team coach, Richard Hlela, believes the Cricket South Africa Women’s National Regional camp will help his team improve their skills on the field.

Hlela was speaking to Maritzburg Fever after two of his cricketers in the Inland team, Pretty Molefe (22) and Nicole de Klerk (18), were selected to attend the camp last Wednesday and Thursday in the Free State.

Hlela, who joined Inland as a coach in July last year, said he is happy that Molefe and De Klerk were selected, adding they deserve the opportunity as they are hard- working players.

“This is the second time the camp is taking place this year, but it’s the first time our players have been selected. This means we are doing our job as coaches.

“The camp has helped a lot because our players learnt new things and will pass on that information to players who were left behind.”

Hlela said this camp was an eye opener for him as a coach as he learnt many strategies that will help his team do better and win more games.

“From now on we will do much better using the information and the skills we learnt at camp.”
