THE Husky Rescue KZN team are on the lookout for a new premises after the property which they were renting was finally sold, leaving them with choice but to find a new home.

The Husky Rescue KZN is a non-profit organisation that rescues, rehabilitates and rehomes abused, neglected and abandoned Huskies.

After their post on Facebook regarding their location situation went viral, the team wanted to reassure the public that they do not intend to shut down their operation.

“We would like to reassure everyone that it is not our intention to shut down #HuskyRescueKZN.

“We will continue to re-home our huskies following our normal procedure of completing an adoption application form, home check and adoption fees,” said Cheryl Warren of the organisation, who noted that, given their unique nature and needs, their adoption process is very strict.

“We are still looking for new premises and appreciate every lead.

For now though we could face approximately 50 huskies being made homeless,” stressed Warren.

Currently occupying a property which has been sold in Cato Ridge, the NPO has maintained that although things seemed bleak, they are positive of a good outcome.

Volunteer Shamitha Shaik said that they have to leave their current premises by June 1 and that they would appreciate anyone coming forward with viable options that they can look at.

“While this is a stressful situation for us we are choosing to believe there is an answer around the corner and light at the end of the tunnel and that our miracle will happen,” said Warren.
