DRAWING on her love and passion for the performing arts and entertainment industry since the age of five, Leora Rochelle Diaz from Woodlands hosts a non-profit organisation called “For the love of music and dance” by which she aims to provide a platform for individuals who are artistically inclined and to expose the community to different types of performing arts.

Coming highly recommended with an Instructor of Dance IdB1 qualification, Diaz said that to pursue her dreams to be an entrepreneur in the performing arts and entertainment industry, she handed in her resignation in 2017 and officially resigned from her permanent job as an office administrator.

“The balance between academics and the performing arts/entertainment industry has been part of my life since the age of five and has progressed substantially over the years from a dance student, to dance teacher/choreographer, co-ordinating concerts and now moving into the entrepreneurial phase with new visions and goals of broadening the Performing Arts & Entertainment in Pietermaritzburg,” said Diaz. Diaz said that she started the initiative in her community in 2011 with the foundation based on a love for the performing arts and “paying it forward” to those who gave her the opportunity to showcase her talent.

“This NPO serves as a platform to facilitate the process of reviving, uplifting and exposing the performing arts within the community and surrounding areas of Pietermaritzburg,” said Diaz. Contact Diaz via e-mail at
