VETERAN journalist, William Saunderson-Meyer, whose current affairs column, Jaundiced Eye, appears in several SA newspapers, will be hosting the annual Friends of Tatham Art Gallery (Fotag) quiz evening.

The event takes place at the gallery in Chief Albert Luthuli Street on Friday, September 8 at 7pm.

“We are thrilled to have political columnist William Saunderson-Meyer as our quizmaster. It is certainly a good start for the South African-themed 2017 event,” said Fotag spokesman, Christopher Duigan.

Expect “Proudly South African” questions on politics, arts, culture, live music and the famous gallery scramble, plus a suitably South African selection of curries for dinner.

Saunderson-Meyer, the managing editor of MedicalBrief, worked for the Rand Daily Mail in South Africa, as well as The Observer and the Financial Times in London and was Visiting Fellow in Journalism at the University of Oxford.

Tickets for the evening are R120 per person, which includes a meal from Café Tatham. Tables seat 10. All money raised will go to help the Tatham Art Gallery to buy new works for the permanent collection.
