THEMBA Njilo Foundation which is a non-profit organisation, is continuing to assist struggling community members around Pietermariztburg with food parcels during the lockdown period. During this lockdown we decided to lend a helping to 100 families by donating food parcels to them. “Before we went to distribute food parcels we first got in touch with leadership in the area and asked them to identify 100 families that in need, the unemployed and people who are not receiving any government grant. Unfortunately they had 180 people on their list and we only managed to assist 100. we are still working out a plan to assist the remaining 80 families,” he said. Njilo said they plan to continue helping more people as an organisation and also need assistance from other people who are willing to donate food. “We will really appreciate it if people can come forward and assist with other donations and we are determined to continue helping people.”Since the lockdown started, the foundation has donated food parcels to struggling communities in over 10 areas.
