AWARD-WINNING pastor Trevor Phoswa will launch his foundation called the Trevor Phoswa Foundation at Pietermaritzburg City Hall on December 19 starting at 2 pm.

During the launch, Phoswa will also thank all the people who voted for him at the Crown Gospel Awards where he scooped the award for Best Gospel Community Radio Show.

Speaking to Echo, Phoswa said the foundation will be focusing on helping the needy with food parcels and clothes.

He said they will also have programmes that will equip people with the information and knowledge that will help them change their lives for the better.

“I have been running community aid programmes for a long time, however these have been run in conjunction with the church.

With this programme I aim to help a lot of people not only in Pietermaritzburg but outside Pietermaritzburg as well.

“We also plan on hosting workshops for both men and women where we provide advice and tips on how to start a business. There are also plans for men’s forum where we invite boys and men to discuss what we can do to protect our women and children.

“We want to know what it is that leads men to kill, rape and beat women and children. We want men to speak out about what causes the anger that makes them do such horrible things,” he said.

Apart from all these programmes, on Tuesday Phoswa’s foundation visited the Mpolweni area which was hit by a tornado over a month ago and donated clothes and food parcels to the affected families.
