Four times the expertise at Quadramed

2018-07-18 06:00

THE well-known Dr Akerman Practice, now running with the fourth generation doctor of the Akerman family, Dr Hugh Akerman, has been established for over forty years.

This familiar practice, situated at 328 Burger Street in Pietermaritzburg, has evolved to incorporate the new name, Quadramed.

Twenty-two years ago, Dr. Mike Smit joined the practice to supplement and grow the practice to where it is today. Quadramed is now forging forward with two additional family practitioners, namely Dr Tracy Campbell and Dr Debbie Armstrong, both of whom are passionate about women’s health.

Each doctor brings their own interest and strength to the practice, allowing for a wide spectrum of specialties that further enhance the services of this medical facility. The interests of these doctors, apart from general medicine, include ADHD, psychiatry, paediatrics, early ante-natal care and sports medicine. There is also a dedicated surgery for minor procedures and a dedicated, qualified nursing sister to assist with medicals, drips, asthma management and other emergencies.

Quadramed is the designated practice for many of the local schools for injuries, illness and general well being of the students.

This practice has trained, friendly and efficient staff who will welcome any patient to the rooms, ensuring that there is a family orientated, child-friendly environment. There is safe secure parking provided at the back of the building and disability parking and easy access for wheelchairs is available at the front of the building.

Quadramed is in close proximity to hospitals, pharmacies, x-ray departments, and laboratories in Pietermaritzburg. Quadramed is contracted in with medical aids, with the assistance of the efficient accounts department.

Dr Hugh Akerman, Dr Mike Smit, Dr Tracy Campbell and Dr Debbie Armstrong are available for consultations from Monday to Friday from 8 am to 5 pm. Appointments can be made telephonically by calling 033 345 8032/33 or 033 342 6825.

Quadramed proudly offers a professional and confidential environment for consultation of all patients. — Supplied.
