FORMER police officers meet and socialise with one another monthly at meetings, organised by a retired SAPS members social club, held at Chistlehurst Academics and Arts.

One of the facilitators of the meetings, Logan Govender, said that to date various members have been reunited with one another with this past meeting allowing for former Baynesfield residents Bala Naidoo and Daniel Seevaraj to meet.

“Both these men served at Thornville and various other stations within Pietermaritzburg before Seevaraj joined the traffic department as a law enforcement officer where he held a senior position for many years until his retirement,” said Govender.

Govender describes the meeting of former officers as heart-warming, especially when old friends and former colleagues meet and rekindle their friendships at these joyous reunions.

The retired SAPS members social club is constantly on the lookout for more members to join so that they can grow and continue to facilitate meetings between retired officers.

Members meet at the Chistlehurst Academics Arts once a month.

For more information regarding the meetings please contact Logan Govender at 074 187 1338.
