SHANETTE Ramnandh, who lives in Cape Town (24), won a piece of jewellery after purchasing a sticker worth R50 from the non-government organisation Rise Against Hunger (RAH).

She asked her parents Shamima (41) and Shaman Ramnandh (46) of Raisethorpe, to accept the gift on her behalf.

Shanette and others purchased the stickers in support of RAH and they were then entered into a lucky draw. The proceeds from the stickers went towards supplying children in South Africa with a hot meal.

The prize was a pendant valued at just over R14 000 sponsored by Marcos Jewellers and Shamima and Shaman received the pendant at Marcos Jewellers in Parklane Centre.

“Each sticker purchased makes it possible for RAH to feed 16 children a hot, well-balanced meal in the early childhood development programme,” said events and marketing co-ordinator for RAH, Kim Carrington (24).

In total, RAH managed to raise R15 450, which will enable them to feed 24 children five meals a week for an entire year.
